Welcome!

“We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones.

Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Arabia. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively exceeds the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here.

We privileged few, who won the lottery of birth against all odds, how dare we whine at our inevitable return to that prior state from which the vast majority have never stirred?”

Of course, I have to start out with a disclaimer like that. Although British, America is my chosen home with 5% of the world’s population but 25% of the world’s lawyers!

The disclaimer, however, has its uses. Being a successful startup requires a leader. Leaders need mental strength, good health, and a physiology that can support their dreams. I always recommend taking a physical, mental, and energetic tune-up before starting any new adventure. I do that annually.

Thank you ChatGPT, a great description for who I am and why I do what I do. I don’t think I could have written the description that well. A.I. has taken a non-emotional viewpoint. How I see and describe myself would not be that clear. (Yes, we’ll get into A.I. later, much later)

What it doesn’t say, however, is that I also have amazing relationships domestically and in business. I’ve never worked more than a few hours a day. I have never hired an employee. I have worked from home in stunning locations. I am fit and still behave and play like the little boy from Liverpool that I will always be. My chosen ‘pornographies’ are luxury travel and world gastronomy. (I teach sex magick too, but ChatGPT censored that). Friends and colleagues jokingly call me Benjamin Button as they say I appear to be getting younger as I age. I am. Putting this course together took me back into great memories of when I started my first company, and the years fell away. By the time I finished creating this I had the renewed motivation and fresh energy to do it again… and this will be the eighth time in 20 years.

The reason I came up with that book title “Three Simple Steps: A Map to Success in Business and Life,” is because balance is the secret sauce, the key to success. Success is not a path to balance. Life and business must be addressed equally. Otherwise a startup ceases to be fun and what is the point of not having fun?

I know many successful people in all kinds of fields who place work as their top priority. Sixteen hour days grinding at a laptop or losing the will to live in corporate meeting rooms is their norm. Then, what should be relaxing family time at home is constantly interrupted by phone calls and social media, their partners feel discarded and disrespected. Some entrepreneurs I know are on their third marriage, missed their children growing up, and now try to distract themselves from the stress with substances, pills, or alcohol.  It is not their fault and it doesn’t ever have to be like that. I am here to fix that once and for all.

None of it is their fault.

Most entrepreneurs are indoctrinated to work and live this way.

The stress and pressure to prove oneself and provide for one’s family is often overwhelming.

Historically it was never like that. Scientifically it doesn’t work like that. In the next few activities I’ll explain this. I know you just want to get into the meat of this course, but first we have to reprogram our mentalities with some fact-based knowledge

Switching to a more relaxed, more prosperous, more balanced lifestyle is easier than you’d think. Yes, I get that you want success, recognition and financial independence. Who doesn’t ? I will, however, help you get all that without losing everything else. You’ll also get it quicker and easier than your ever dreamed.

It sounds like I might be a wizard with a magic wand. I am, but my wizardry is in understanding energy and how to use it, and my magic wand is my brain, heart, solar-plexus nerve-connected system that I call the torso wand. (see The Transformation Experience at www.trevorgblake.com for a fuller explanation)

Don’t worry, this seemingly woo-woo stuff will become clear as we go. Obviously, right now I am being a bit of a tease. It is like I ask you to close your eyes, put out your tongue and I place a delicious bite of food on the tip. You immediately want to know how to recreate that sensation. That is what I will do in this experience. I know how easy success with balance is. I know the taste of it. You don’t yet. I’ll lead you there.

But, be patient.

First, however, you must change your mentality from the indoctrinated belief that life is about work, work, work and that success only comes from dedicated focus on it.

I don’t believe it’s possible to grow a successful business without successfully growing oneself. To me, a business is simply a physical expression of who we are as a person. The culture is set by us. The impact is determined by our purpose. How we think and talk determines what shows up and whether we survive and thrive.

In The Transformation Experience, (see www.trevorgblake.com) guests learn and understand that everything in the universe is simply energy in various forms. The governing physics law is that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, only converted from one form into another. It matters not if you understand or believe that right now. It is a law of physics. It does not need you to believe in it. It needs you to work with it.

Take a moment to reflect on this law. If energy cannot be created or destroyed than all the energy that could exist already exists. That takes off a lot of pressure from our shoulders. If we don’t have to create it all we have to do is change it. We can change a winning idea into a company. We can change a moment of insight into a killer marketing campaign. It is all so much easier and so much more fun when we work with energy rather than against it or foolishly trying to make something out of nothing.

If everything is energy (and that is irrefutable scientific fact) and cannot be destroyed then there are also no such things as failure, death, bankruptcy or depletion. Therefore, all the ups and down of economies, all the stock market waves, all the rise and falls of businesses are a kind of illusion. It is simply the same energy experienced in different ways.

It is so simple and stress-free.
In order to understand success with balance you will have to learn to interact with energy differently. That requires a paradigm shift in mentality.

What is mentality? Being successful in anything requires a high degree of individualism. Individualism requires control of mentality. I’m not going to insist that you can change yourself with positive thinking; that can help you feel better about the life you have, but ultimately what you want is a better life. That’s what I’m going to help you with.

Reclaiming your mentality is about becoming the person you were born to be—an individual with the power to think for yourself and with an unlimited potential to achieve great things. Getting out of the quicksand of your life means you must recognize yourself as one among the flock, and win back your identity through control of mentality. It can be the difference between life and death.

Mentality is defined as a habitual mental attitude that determines how you will interpret and react to situations. The mentality equation has three elements:

  • The situation (what we see, hear, smell, taste, sense, and what the media or people in our lives can make us feel about any of that)
  • The thought (triggered by how we are made to feel)
  • The reaction (how we choose to discharge the emotional thought)

Situation + Thought = Reaction

‘The quality of our thoughts is important, and books on positive thinking tend to stop there. It is, however, the next step that determines a path of success or frustration: how we react to what we think. Under normal circumstances, we don’t exert any control over what we see and hear from the people around us or through the media. Our thoughts tend to be triggered by an automatic emotional response about what we see and hear. Then we react, and for most people it is habitual.

If you have not managed to control any of the sensory input or the thoughts that they trigger, then you let your reaction be influenced by the situation. You have placed responsibility for your life in the minds, opinions, and influence of the outside stimuli. They tell you that you have six months to live, and you die. They tell you the economy is in free fall and you decide it is the wrong time to start the business of your dreams. They tell you you’ll soon qualify for assisted living, so you determine that you are too old to go back to college.

To get out of the quicksand, you have to filter what you allow into your mind so that your decisions belong to you as an individual, and not to the fashion or trend of any group or media. You must choose your own thoughts and the reactions you have to them. You must become an individual again, something most people have not experienced since birth.’

-Three Simple Steps

I have never met a successful entrepreneur who set out to be one, only individuals who found something to create or fix and set about doing that. Entrepreneurs are fixers and that requires an understanding of how to work with energy in different ways. That means reclaiming your individualism and gaining control of your mentality.

When I was younger, I read hundreds of biographies and was always blown away by how similar the ‘fixes’ were. Also, how similar the habits and attitudes were of the ‘fixer.’ Yet, there was no commonality in the individuals. They were unique. They all thought individually, lived in different times, floated through different cultures with different labels for the tools and techniques they used. Yet, the habits and attitudes were similar.

Therefore, in this course you will find many techniques designed to replicate those habits and attitudes, improve your natural ability to make good decisions by developing intuition, learn to create winning ideas and convert them into successful companies by playing with energy in a different way than you have been. You will learn about business models that match and work with the prevailing energy of these times. You will hear me talk about mentality control and schedule discipline. Sounds very new age, but it’s all pragmatic, practical and, absolutely essential for this new technological time.

We are at a crossroad in entrepreneurship in which the regular business models and ways of managing are giving way. Lean is still too big, artificial intelligence is an ally, and get-big-fast is the best way. Only individuals with strong mentality and a knowledge of practical alchemy can thrive. The fact you are here means you are just such a person. You don’t have all the tools you’ll need yet. They are coming. Be patient.

 The structure of each activity

In the book, Brain Rules, by development molecular biologist, John Medina, the reader is introduced to the concept of different types of memory and how that relates to learning concepts. He clearly demonstrates that we all struggle to pay attention to anything for more then 10 minutes.

At that point our attention plummets unless it is re-stimulated by something emotional and relevant to the topic. We can experience that when watching any movie. A successful movie script creates instant attention grabbers and then just as the attention of the watcher starts to fade, it has an unexpected plot twist exactly on the ten minute mark. For that reason, the structure of this course is intended to deliver information and concepts in digestible bite-size pieces. Along with a multi media style that appeals more to our brains and aids retention.

The addition of art by my wife Jess Von Innerebner (www.jessvoni.com) is not here just for eye candy. It serves a purpose both to highlight the take-home messages and to cause the brain’s neurons to misfire. Doing so creates memory and learning via visual stimulation.

I also recommend taking breaks between activities, even after the introduction. Knowledge by itself fades quickly if it is not allowed to sink in. Knowledge that is digested creates wisdom. There is a scientific principle behind this. When we get knowledge and then go for a walk to contemplate what we have learned, a process of energy connection takes place in our sub conscious. Knowledge, which is also a form of energy, gets to play with the rest of the energy in our universe.

When we return home we feel wiser than before. We know more than the sum of the words we read before we went for a walk. Therefore, it is important to take breaks after each activity. Do not be tempted to skip them. If you want success with balance you have to accept this structure and you have to be disciplined to go one activity at a time, each separated by quiet contemplation. Taking a walk in nature to contemplate knowledge is one of the common habits of the successful and rich throughout history. You’ll find it in any biography and all the studies of what makes some successful and others not.

 Discussion opportunity after every activity

This is a multi-media content course, but it is also a forum for like-minded people to share experiences and ideas. It is a safe haven, protected from outside criticism or negative influences. You’ll certainly not see any sensational media headlines here, everything you share is valued. Cold, hard facts and an alternative mentality are the order of the day.

Please join in the chatter at the end of every activity. You never know how important something you say might be to someone passing through now or in the future. I believe the discussion sections are as important to the content, especially when it comes to sharing tips and magical experiences.

We started with the brilliant opening paragraph from Unweaving the Rainbow. Let me close with the same sentiment, in visual form.

Below are two video clips from Dead Poet’s Society.

Now, let’s go create success with balance!
